They were doing such a good job of building their relationship in a natural way, and then the last arc comes along and they just crank that shit to 10. The Vi/Cait stuff in the last arc suffered from this. Felt like they didn't have enough time to let things breathe as they were reaching towards the conclusion and just sped some character shit along. The last arc felt a "little" rushed in some areas. Not all flowers can bloom in concrete, you know? A hard life twisted the fuck out of her and abused her talents. In fact, that can be fairly considered one of the tragedies of the oppression of Zaun: talent gets washed over and lost to poverty, pain, PTSD. I think maybe that was glossed over a bit (her being a bit of an engineering prodigy). Like, she built those from scratch out of junk. To be fair, she was showing her engineering chops as a 12 year old, making her cute powder grenades. Maybe she would have been Heimer's prodigal daughter instead of Jayce being the prodigal son. Imagine if she didn't have to live with the trauma of staring death in the face from an early age and every day thereafter. Imagine what Powder could have become if she had Caitlyn's childhood + education and the kind of peace and opportunity Piltover provides its top-side citizenry. So yes, she was a brilliant mind, so much so that she was able to do what Jayce struggled to do for years in a matter of days or weeks, with seemingly no formal training or proper schooling.
